One Direction Tour Update: Simon Cowell Fears That 1D Boys Might Turn Into 'Nightmares' Because Of Fame

Simon Cowell is the person behind the fame of One Direction. He was the one who discovered that combining the boys' good looks and singing skills could catapult them to worldwide fame. For this reason, it is only understandable why the 'X Factor' judge likewise worries for the welfare of the boys.

One Direction is currently having tours across the globe to promote their newest songs. Their latest music video for 'Story of My Life' is reportedly the boys' most emotional videos to date. "It's quite nice to look at everyone else's photos actually from when everyone else was a little kid. We're all doing the same thing so technically we've lived our lives in sync. Very emotional, bit of a tear," says Liam Payne.

Even if they are already known worldwide, Cowell can attest that the 1D boys are still have their feet planted on the ground. They are boys who try to honor their work commitments without being involved in several issues that are common in their generation.

However, it does not mean that the soon-to-be father is not scared that the boys will change: "I have a good relationship with them. But a third album can be tricky because they've had so much success and are so young and they can turn into nightmares. I see that in the media all the time when kids get out of control, but they are good."

The music expert likewise shares his philosophy when it comes to training the band: "From the beginning, I wasn't going to be some awful Svengali telling them what to do. We are all smart and they can work it out themselves and they have worked it out themselves and they have fun. I've always said to them, 'If it's not fun, then stop doing it.'"

The 'Story of My Life' is very apt with how the boys describe themselves. According to its music video director Ben Winston, 1D merely wanted to show that despite their popularity and wealth, they're still basically the same simple boys.
