Avengers Casting news: Elizabeth Olsen cast a spell on Joss Whedon.

Elizabeth Olsen, the younger sister of the famous Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, has been cast as Scarlet Witch in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

Elizabeth Olsen finally confirmed that she has been cast in the new "Avengers" movie. Elizabeth Olsen will play Magneto's daughter the Scarlet Witch in the Avengers sequel. The Avengers: Age of Ultron will also introduce Scarlet's twin brother, Quicksilver It was already confirmed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast as Olsen's onscreen twin.

The Olsens seem to thrive when paired with a twin. She said "We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister," she said. "It's also fun because even though in Godzilla we play husband and wife, we don't have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I'm so excited... to actually work with each other. I think it's going to be fun."

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s little sister has been building her acting rep in independent movies like “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “Kill Your Darlings.” Elizabeth Olsen’s role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is her first blockbuster movie.

In an accidental casting slip a few months ago, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” told the Wall Street Journal: “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

Now the 24-year-old actress confirmed that she'll be starring in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers sequel, “Age of Ultron.” She’s just happy she didn’t have to break the Avengers casting news.

During a press junket for the upcoming Spike Lee remake of the horror classic “Old Boy” on Monday, Elizabeth Olsen told MTV News "Sam Jackson has released me from that awkwardness."

Although the youngest Olsen didn’t give out an any details about the storyline or costume, she did say: "It's so fun." And talked about Joss Whedon. She said "He's very smart. He's too smart. He might be too smart. Some people are too smart for their own good, but he's amazing."

Critics loved Elizabeth Olsen for her role in "Martha Marcy May Marlene" from 2011. Elizabeth Olsen will next appear in Spike Lee's remake of the Japanese horror film "Oldboy." Elizabeth Olsen will also play in Gareth Edwards’ reboot of Godzilla. According to published reports, Elizabeth Olsen is going to have to use a “European” accent for the role.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is slated to hit theaters May 1, 2015.
