Walking Dead Governor, Season 4 Spoilers: The One Eyed Villain Ready To Stay Longer With The TV Series, David Morrissey “Hopes To Make It To Season 5”

SPOILER ALERT: Dare not read this if you haven't seen the Season 4 fifth episode.

Sunday's episode was action-packed. The flu-like virus spreads throughout the cellblock and all hell broke loose. The new tough guy Hershel saved everyone in that group by killing all the zombies and tried reviving other characters, including Glenn who almost died because of the flu. A barrage of walkers also stormed in the camp after breaking the fence but with the gun expertise of the father and son tandem of Rick and Carl, they cleared and killed the horde.

It was however the last scene of the episode that would excite fans of the Walking Dead series. It was a shot of the Governor just outside the compound of the prison looking at the building. Then, the episode ends.

For the comic book and graphic novel readers, they would know how the Governor would end his reign as the villain after infiltrating Rick's group out of the prison.

But the story seemed to be different from the TV series and the comics so we would never know what would happen.

David Morrissey who plays the Governor in the Walking Dead series told Entertainment Weekly that he plans to extend his stay with the series and hopes to be there until season five.

"I had a little hiatus on 'The Walking Dead' and we filmed that pilot," explained Morrissey. "So I'm waiting to see. But I like 'The Walking Dead.' I am part of 'The Walking Dead.' I really hope to make it to season 5 of 'The Walking Dead.' I don't know what's going to happen - that's an AMC decision, not mine. But I really consider myself to be a 'Walking Dead' actor, and I consider myself to be the Governor and that's where I am with this at the moment."

Morrissey pointed out that the end scene was that the Governor was looking at the prison more of a safe spot to live in rather than getting revenge in Rick's group.

"He's looking for safety, and the main thing for the prison is it's the safe place to be. It's the alternative of our world in the zombie apocalypse. The prison is a place of protection, not a place of incarceration, so that's why he's looking at it."

"I think he's intelligent enough to know that there is something that can take over himself. I don't think he's totally happy with the capabilities that he's shown. It was never in his plan to turn on his own people. And the loss of his daughter has done something terrible to his brain. That's the fight he will have going forward. I think once anybody has committed an act like that or done something like that, they know their capabilities, and it's about whether they can keep control of themselves. Because they really know now - it's that cliché of "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" - there's a sense from him that he knows where his anger can take him. And that's his battle. And will certainly be his battle in season 4," he continued.
