Zayn Malik Fiance Perrie Edwards Forgets His Ethnicity? She Wants Wedding With An ‘Indian Element,’ But One Direction Singer Is Pakistani

Does Perrie Edwards know her fiance Zayn Malik well enough to marry him? Perrie Edwards seemed to confuse Zayn Malik's ethnicity in a recent interview about her wedding plans to the One Direction singer.

The Mirror asked Perrie Edwards where she was thinking of having her wedding with Zayn Malik. The 20-year-old Little Mix singer responded: "I think maybe Barbados; I would like it on the beach. There may well be an Indian element for Zayn's family - I'd like that," she told The Mirror.

The problem? Zayn Malik isn't Indian, he's Pakistani. Or, to be more exact, he is half Pakistani and half British.

Does Perrie Edwards' mix up of Zayn Malik's ethnicity suggest that she doesn't know her fiance well enough to marry him?

According to Hollywood Life, Zayn and Perrie met on the set of "The X Factor" in 2011. They dated for two years and announced their engagement on August 20, at the "One Direction: This Is Us" London premiere.

In terms of wedding destinations, Perrie is torn, The Mirror reports.

"She's torn between having a UK do, because all her family are here, and doing something magical and exotic abroad, like Barbados," an insider tells the paper, Hollywood Life reports.

"The engagement kind of just happened and then we've been away from home all year. But, put it this way: I don't want to be engaged for 50 years. We'll get there soon," Perrie told The Mirror.

But according to one insider, the couple are postponing their nuptials until 2015.

"Because of both their hectic work schedules, it looks like the wedding will have to be put on hold until 2015. They're both still so young and they know there is no hurry," an insider told The Mirror.
