CyanogenMod Powered Phone To Easily Take On The Nexus 5 Upon Release?

If you are more than a casual Android user, then you may have probably come across the CyanogenMod ROM for Android. That's because the most popular in the platform. However, its founder has other things in mind - including developing a Cyanogen powered phone that will run the ROM out of the box.

In a report by GSM Arena, Cyanogen founder Steve Kondik is working with Oppo in releasing a device that will run the highly-popular ROM right out of the box. This is certainly a great option for Android users who want nothing of the skins and mods provided by OEMs and carriers.

However, considering Oppo's track record, initial supplies may be limited and fail to meet the demand of the flash-hungry Android mob.

But just in case you are wondering how powerful the device would be, several reports claim that it would easily match the Nexus 5's speed and efficiency.

The phone may still be a few months away, but it is certainly a move that could change the smartphone platform competition once and for all.
