HTC One 2 M8 Release Date: Rumored HTC Phone Allegedly Packs 5" Display, Snapdragon 800, Android KitKat

This year, HTC One has been one of the most popular Android devices thanks to its sleek design, powerful chipset and front-facing speakers. Now, the Taiwanese manufacturer is rumored to be working on another classic. There's no specific HTC One 2 M8 release date yet, but recent rumors are already pointing to it in the next few weeks.

According to notorious leakster EVleaks in a Twitter post, the upcoming Droid will feature 5 inches of screen estate, a powerful Snapdragon 800 processor, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

If the rumor pans out to be true, this would be the company's first phone to get the latest Qualcomm chipset. However, that could mean the manufacturer could be one step behind Samsung once more.

This year, the Galaxy Note 3 packed the Snapdragon 800 while HTC's One max only got the 600 variant. Even if HTC manages to get the latest chipset, Samsung is already on its way in producing 64-bit enabled chipsets to match that of the iPhone 5s. Not to mention Qualcomm may already be working on a new version of its chipset.

Still, there are high hopes for the rumored HTC One 2 M8. The company just needs to place it on a price range that is ideal in the market today.
