George Zimmerman Arrested After Disturbance Call; Follows Two Traffic Stops, One With Concealed Weapon

George Zimmerman, who made national headlines last year for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012, been arrested in Florida. There are no details about what charges George Zimmerman is facing.

According to a Seminole County Sheriff's Office statement, George Zimmerman was arrested after deputies responed to a disturbance call at a house in Apopka, Fla., on Monday afternoon. George Zimmerman was arrested about 15 miles northwest of Orlando. Zimmerman will be transported and booked into jail.

Geoge Zimmerman was acquitted earlier this year of all charges in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin while George Zimmerman was on neighborhood watch. The Trayvon Martin shooting brought Florida’s stand your ground law to the national attention.

George Zimmerman was involved in a domestic dispute with his estranged wife in September days after Shellie Zimmerman filed divorce papers. According to police officials, because of a lack of evidence, no charges were filed against either George Zimmerman or his wife.

The sheriff's office said will be booked at the county's correctional facility,

George Zimmerman has also has been stopped for speeding twice since the Trayvon Martin shooting. The first time was in July when George Zimmerman was pulled over in Forney, Texas. He told the cops that he had a concealed weapon permit and a gun in his glove compartment. That time George Zimmerman got off with a verbal warning.

The second time Zimmerman was pulled over was in early September. Cops clocked him at 60 mph in a 45-mph zone. He was given a $256 ticket. He was not carrying a weapon at the time.
