‘Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition’ Release Date For PS4 And Xbox One Set For January 2014? Square Enix' Game Listed At Amazon Italy

News suggest that the next-generation re-release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition could already be in the works.

Amazon Italy listed Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for a re-release for the next-generation consoles. One listing is for the PlayStation 4 console, while another one features an undisclosed platform, which, as assumed by others, is the Xbox One. According to the listing, "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" release date for the PS4 and probably the Xbox One is set for January 24, 2014.

Moreover, according to the description on the listing, the "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" for PS4 and Xbox One will include all the previously made available downloadable content. As posted on Cinema Blend, the DLC released for Tomb Raider included 3 map packs, which "added a total of six new arenas for the multiplayer."

The post on Cinema Blend further reads,

Tomb Raider sold about 3.4 million copies in its first month of release earlier this year. That's a strong showing but it was below Square Enix's crazy expectations. Perhaps Square Enix feels that the next-gen consoles are a new opportunity to capitalize on the game's strong reviews. Hopefully they buy a few thousand less bus advertisements for the game so it can make a tidy profit on Xbox One and PS4.

Those who will order the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One will also get an exclusive artbook of the game. As for the recommended retail price, the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition costs at about €59.99.

However, Square Enix is yet to confirm or deny these listings that are found on Amazon Italy.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC was released by Square Enix on March of this year. It has also announced that a next-gen sequel is currently in the works at Crystal Dynamics.
