Brooklyn Nets Jason Kidd Is ‘The Worst Coach In The NBA’ As Team Struggles; Frustrated Players Have Their Own ‘Meeting’

The Brooklyn Nets were one of the most outspoken teams during the summer. That was expected when your team has Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Put Jason Terry in the mix too.

However, the Nets are receiving the noise now, and it doesn't sound good. In the latest edition of ESPN's True Hoop TV, analyst and coach David Thorpe has declared that Jason Kidd is the worst in the NBA.

"He gets an F. He gets a 0. My wife could coach a team to a 29th ranking for that team. She doesn't know much about basketball. He just... his guys, I don't think they have any purpose and passion to what they're doing. I think they're discombobulated. Listen, Henry, he was an amazing player, one of my favorite of all time for a lot of different reasons, but our profession is different from his profession, and to assume that that transition is easy, it's a short bridge, is crazy. He has a long way to go to figure this out. Do I think he'll be better? Will they be better? It seems very likely. But as he's currently doing, he's the worst coach in the NBA."

After the loss to the Portland Trailblazers, Jason Kidd was not one to dodge the accusation. In the post game conference:

"Just bad coaching. I take the blame for this."

The observation was shared by an unnamed scout who described Kidd's command on the bench as "terrible."

From the Bleacher Report, the scout says: "He doesn't do anything. He doesn't make calls. John Welch does all the offense. Lawrence does all the defense. ... I don't know what Kidd does. I don't think you can grade him and say he's bad. You can give him an incomplete."

However, Nets GM Billy King remains supportive of Kidd.

"I knew it was going to take time. But his instincts will take over."

The players also take their own initiative. Leaders like Garnett and Pierce are anything but passive. According to the NY Post, the locker room was locked for an extra 25 minutes after the loss and the players skipped the post game media conference.

Will their 'Players Only' Meeting be as controversial as the Cavs?
