As for more news and World of Warcraft update, Blizzard shared that there might be new contents and expansions every year for WOW. Citing comments from Greg Street, WOW lead systems designer, PC Gamer posts, "...maintaining enthusiasm for the nine-year-old game might also mean getting new content out at a quicker pace-even as often as once a year."

Over the nine years, there were four major WOW expansions released, as well as smaller patches. However, offering a yearly release of expansion "could change the way new and returning players view WoW."

Greg Street told Digital Spy, "We find that expansions are what bring players back to World of Warcraft. Really good patches will keep them, but they aren't as good at bringing players back to the game."

He further continued, "We really want to get to a cadence where we can release expansions more quickly. Once a year I think would be a good rate. I think the best thing we can do for new players is to keep coming out with regular content updates."

World of Warcraft is an immensely popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Blizzard Entertainment and was released on 2004.
