Netizens are raising the issue of fairness regarding the judges in 'K-Pop Star.'

'K-Pop Star' is heavily centered on the decisions of the judges than any other audition program. This is because each judge represents each of the three biggest management agencies.

The judges' scores accounts for 60% of the results which is much more than that of ‘Super Star K’ and ‘Great Birth.’ This means that one judge accounts for about 20% of a contestant's overall score. This is higher than the weight of the pre-performance voting which is at 10%.

This means that there are also high expectations for the judges. But the current subjective and inconsistency in scores have so far disappointed the audience.

The biggest issue is Park Jin Young who has repeatedly been criticized for his inconsistent scores. When he told Baek Ah Yeon "frowning while singing means that you aren't articulating properly," netizens were furious.

During the last episode, Park Jin Young had told Lee Michelle that "You are too perfect" and Park Jimin that "it feels like there is an experienced singer living in you. You sing well when that singer is around and you lose it when the singer leaves for a break."

BoA has been criticized for showing personal preference. Her score for Park Je Hyung was a whopping 93 compared to Park Jin Young who awarded 82 points and Yang Hyun Suk who’d awarded 88. The only contestants who'd managed to score higher than Park Je Hyung from BoA was Park Jimin. Even Lee Ha Ee was awarded the equal number of points. This explains why netizens have complained of BoA preferring certain contestants.

But some also argue that this is the essence of ‘K-Pop Star.’ The program, according to a viewer, is supposed to see the potential and uniqueness of a future artist. And since these contestants will eventually end up at one of the three agencies, they have every right to judge them in whatever way they want.
