Girls' Generation (SNSD), KARA, 2PM, 2NE1, SHINee and CNBLUE Nominated for MTV VMAJ 2012

K-Pop is becoming more influential in Japan as they have entered mainstream media and tops music charts as often as in Korea. This is especially proven by having several popular K-Pop stars to be nominated for MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012 (VMAJ 2012).

MTV Japan revealed the nominees for MTV VMAJ 2012 on March 19 the groups that are nominated are Girls’ Generation, KARA, 2PM, 2NE1, SHINee and CNBLUE in various categories.

The MTV VMAJ 2012 will be held at the Makuhari Messe Hall on June 23 and is hosted by girl group Perfume. The nominations are eligible for Japanese and Western music videos and albums released in Japan between March 1, 2011 and February 29 2012.

The online voting is open from March 19 till June 8, vote at MTV Japan’s Facebook page and click the red button to cast your vote. You can vote once per day per category, by voting you join a chance to win an Amazon gift card.

Here are the nominees of K-Pop artists.

2PM was nominated in ‘Best Group Video’ for ‘I’m Your Man.’
CNBLUE and 2NE1 was nominated in ‘Best New Artist Video’ for ‘In My Head’ and ‘I AM THE BEST,’ respectively.
Girls’ Generation was nominated for ‘Best Video of the Year’ for ‘MR. TAXI.’
SHINee was nominated for ‘Best Choreography’ for ‘LUCIFER.’
KARA was nominated for ‘Best Album of the Year’ for ‘Super Girl.’
