Inconceivable: Cary Elwes Writing `As You Wish: Tales from the Princess Bride,’ A Memoir About 'Princess Bride'

Cary Elwes is adding to the fairy tale "Princess Bride," in a new memoir about the making of the classic film. Cary Elwes has been a consistent actor who has been in some great movies, but "Princess Bride" is a special case.

Twenty-five years after the movie was made Cary Elwes is writing a memoir about the 1987 production of "The Princess Bride."  Cary Elwes has fond memories of starring in "The Princess Bride." Cary Elwes and Robin Wright starred as the lovers Westley and Buttercup.

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You Killed my father. Prepare to die!"

Elwes got the idea during a "Princess Bride" cast reunion at the New York Film Festival in 2012.  In a statement Elwes said "It was a joy to work on such a magical film with an amazing cast of talented actors and friends. It will be great fun to revisit The Princess Bride and to share my fond memories of the unforgettable experience we all had."

In a deal with Touchstone, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Cary Elwes' memoir is called "As You Wish: Tales from the Princess Bride." Elwes is co-writing the book with Joe Layden. Touchstone announced that the book is set to be published in the fall of 2014.

"The Princess Bride" director Rob Reiner wrote the foreword. The book also will include interviews with Billy Crystal, Robin Wright and other cast members from. Elwes' also appeared in such films as "Days of Thunder," "Hot Shots!," "New Year's Eve," "Glory" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula." He also had a recurring role on the X-Files. And not as a good guy.
