Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date For Samsung Galaxy S4 And Note 3 May Fall On January, Update For Sony's Xperia ZR Under Consideration

Released several weeks ago, Android KitKat is officially among the top most sought-after versions for a mobile phone platform. If you are one of the people who are looking forward to an Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date for some phones which hit the market earlier this year, then you're in for some great news.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the platform's latest version is poised to hit the Samsung Galaxy S4, and the Galaxy Note 3 sometime in January next year. While this tentative release schedule is still more than a month away, the fact that these two Droids would be getting the update soon is really exciting for its owners.

Both the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3 were released earlier this year, a few months apart. The first is the flagship of the S line, while the latter is the alpha dog for the Note phablet family. They both possess two of the best chipsets in the market, the relatively new Snapdragon 600 for the S4, and the fresh Snapdragon 800 for the Note 3.

This immense power and performance ability would make KitKat more beautiful than it is advertised for the past few months. Aside from the Galaxy S4 and Note 3, the Galaxy S3 and Note would also get Android KitKat as well, scheduled within March and April next year.

Meanwhile, there are some phones which are still under consideration as far as Android KitKat is concerned. One of these is Sony's Xperia ZR. Released just last June, this midranger boasts decent specs which, in paper, can still be compatible with the new version's discrete system requirements. However, no official statement has been released yet to confirm whether KitKat will arrive on it and similar Sony devices or not.
