Here are four hints that E! News gives "Vampire Diaires" fans, leading us to believe Stefan and Katherine may be hooking up in the near future.

1. The two characters are both played by series regulars.
2. You probably would not expect them to get together because of what has happened between them in the past.
3. One of them will provide much-needed help to the other.
4. It will be happening this season. But we're pretty sure it's not tonight.

As Wetpaint speculates, these spoilers seem to point straight towards Stefan and Katherine. They fit all the clues:

1. Both Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) are series regulars.

2. They both share a troubled past: they were once lovers, but Stefan later fell madly in love with Katherine's doppelganger, Elena. Not to mention Katherine tried to kill Elena recently, who is now dating Stefan's older brother, Damon.

3. Both Stefan and Katherine need help. Spoiler alert: Stefan is struggling with his memories from spending the summer locked up at the bottom of the quarry, while Katherine is dealing with her rapid aging due to turning human from the Cure. Either one could help the other.

Of course, another possibility is Stefan and Caroline. As we previously reported, Paul Wesley told E! News: "They don't have very much time left for Stefan and Caroline to get in the sack. That, I think, needs to happen."
