Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date Announcement Coming Soon? Microsoft Releases New Trailer Including Highly-Anticipated RPG Game

Microsoft released a new trailer for upcoming Xbox One video games during a televised special celebrating the launch of the next-generation system which included footage from Kingdom Hearts 3, Examiner.com reports, leaving many fans wondering if the game's release date will be announced soon.

Both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 were included in the montage but both titles were not revealed until after Microsoft's media briefing, meaning the launch event may potentially be the first time the console manufacturer has publicly acknowledged that "Final Fantasy XV" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" is coming to the Xbox One, Examiner.com also reports.

Kingdom Hearts 3 could expect a release date as far away as 2015 - new comments suggest the game would be made available to gamers months or possibly a year after March 2014.

"Square Enix has released a lineup of new video game releases for the next fiscal quarter, which ends in March 2014 and Kingdom Hearts 3 is notably absent," the Latin Times writes.

"So with a release date delayed till at least March 2014, when will fans actually be able to play KH3? Probably not till at least 2015."

Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura decided to use younger Sora in the new game because he "likes him more" and is "more iconic and marketable," Society and Religion writes.

"Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2, at the end of the day, is a bit ridiculous; but it's wrong to introduce an aged character and then keep the character young," the website writes.

"It alienates a lot of people who thought the KH2 outfit was awesome. But I believe the dev team has a hard time working with KH2 Sora post-KH2, since he pretty much was a new character, baring little personality or appearance to his original incarnation."

Square Enix has not announced official release dates for both titles.
