NBA 2K14 Release Date Version Better Than NBA Live 14? Live Producer Confesses That Game’s Release ‘Isn’t Exactly The NBA LIVE Comeback Story We Were Hoping For’

NBA Live executive producer Sean O'Brien revealed that NBA Live '14's comeback was not as good as his company expected, leaving many gamers wondering if its competitor game NBA 2K14 had a more successful release date version.

"I'm not going to lie; it's been a rough week. As you can imagine, this isn't exactly the NBA LIVE comeback story we were hoping for this year," O'Brien told Electronic Arts in an open letter last week.

"We hear loud and clear that some of you are disappointed in various aspects of NBA LIVE 14, and I'm sorry if the game doesn't live up to your expectations. Looking at your feedback, we have laid out a plan to make NBA LIVE 14 a better game as quickly as we can."

2K Sports is confident that the next-generation versions of NBA 2K14 will bring more eye-candy than any other launch game, Sports Illustrated reports, leaving many wondering if it will define the visuals of the new consoles.

"Players are looking to fully experience their next-generation console," 2K Senior Producer Rob Jones told Polygon.

"Usually what's the best way? Well, usually you get it in two places. You get it in the best first-party game, and you get it in the game that looks the best."

But one critic suggests the next-generation console version has limited options.

"Where some fans are going to be a little bit angry, is in the barebones offering in Online leagues and general lack of compelling modes to play. Where previous games in the series (including the current games on Xbox 360 and PS3) gave commissioners way more power to set up options in these online fantasy leagues, 2K14 on the PS4 lacks this," AttackOfTheFanboy.com writes.
