Android 4.4 KitKat Release For Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Already Out, Offers Performance And Functional Improvements

When the Google Play Editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets were launched, Google seemingly promised to roll out updates to these two devices ahead of other OEM phones in the market. And so far, it has kept its word as the Galaxy S4 gets its Android 4.4 KitKat release build as well.

In a report by GSM Arena, the Korean manufacturer's flagship phone for its S lineup is now getting the Android 4.4 KitKat release as mentioned by Google's Google+ account.

For the owners of this phone, this is a golden opportunity to try out the benefits of Android's latest version in such a powerful device. Considering that Google promised KitKat to run in as many low-end devices as possible, it would surely look lovely on the Galaxy S4 with more than 2.0Ghz processing power and 2GB of RAM.

At the moment, there are already a handful of devices which have the latest Android version - the GPE versions of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola's Moto X, and the previous and current Nexus flagship phones. Meanwhile, Sony would get the update on its Xperia Z and Z1 any time soon.
