Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Rumored Alcatel Idol X+ Appears In Leaked Images, To Boast World's First True Octa-Core CPU From MediaTek

There are a few Android OEMs which are not getting the usual spotlight that other makers get. One of these is TCL, the company behind Alcatel smartphones. However, the impending release of its newest flagship may change things and turn the tides in their favor. For Android fans looking for fresh upcoming Android phones in 2013, then this one may suffice their taste.

The Alcatel Idol X+ is the successor of the acclaimed Idol X, and in a recent report, TCL is poised to unveil the device any time soon. But yesterday, two leaked images of the rumored smartphone made waves and regarded the phone's sleek design.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the upcoming device will feature MediaTek's newest chipset, making the phone the world's first that has a 'true octa-core CPU'.

The Idol X+ is reportedly going to feature a 13-megapixel camera, and while there has been no confirmations yet regarding screen resolution, it is safe to say that it would get at least 1080p considering the fact that the previous generation Idol X already made the feat for the company.

According to the report, Alcatel will be working with Chinese online retailer JD.com when the Idol X+ is launched before the year ends. Unfortunately, information regarding a worldwide release as well as pricing are not yet available.

We'll keep you posted once TCL confirms these details.
