Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: Official Android 4.3 Update Halted But Report Says Canadian S3 Owners Claim They’re Receiving The New OS

Samsung Galaxy S3 update: The much awaited official Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been halted because of various bugs and issues reported by S3 owners who installed the new OS.

According to Geeky-Gadgets.com, some of the issues users were reporting include random freezing of the handset, Bluetooth audio issues, battery drain, the device freezing on incoming calls, and spotty connection with Wi-Fi.

Sam Mobile, in a November 18 report, posted the following official statement from Samsung Mobile UK regarding the pulled update:

“As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility.”

At the time of this writing, Samsung has not given a specific date on when the update will again be released. But a report from Android Central today says that Canadian S3 and Note 2 owners are receiving the big update to Android 4.3

Android Central noted that the big 700MB+ update brings all sort of improvements to the two phones, including support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Samsung KNOX’s enterprise software and updated look on menus and icons throughout the system.

As the report of Canadian S3 update was recent, there have been no news yet on feedback of S3 owners on any bugs caused by the Android 4.3 update.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is jumping from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3 as the South Korean tech giant has decided to skipped the Android 4.2.2 update for the device.
