Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: OIS Camera Allegedly Not Present In Upcoming Droid Due To Possible Supply Shortages, Design Problems

Samsung is known for releasing its phones early every year, and this may also be the case with the upcoming Galaxy S5. However, as more fans are getting excited with all these Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors, one tip may not bring good tidings, especially to lovers of camera photography.

According to a report from GSM Arena, Korean media site ETNews said that the upcoming Android smartphone may not have the popular optical image stabilization (OIS) feature. In case this is true, this is certainly a huge setback for the Korean manufacturer, whose competitors all but shove to consumers' faces that their newest devices have the famed camera feature.

In case the term is new to you, OIS is a camera feature that allows far better performance in taking shots, especially those which require movement, whether on the part of the object or the phone user.

But if this feature is that much of importance, why would Samsung leave it behind?

Well, according to ETNews, the Korean manufacturer is afraid that supplies from its camera manufacturers would not be able to deliver enough parts on time. That may be a good reason, considering its Galaxy S lineup sells millions of smartphones every month.

However, that's not all there is to the rumor.

The report also says that apparently, the OIS modules are too thick to fit the Galaxy S5's very thin frame.

Of course, you might want to take this rumor with more than a pinch of salt as the Korean manufacturer has yet to make any announcements. That also goes for previous rumors such as the 64-bit processor, waterproof and dustproof capability, and the metal frame.
