Shinhwa Achieves All-Kill with 'Venus'

Popular group Shinhwa signals a glorious comeback achieving an all-kill on the real time music charts with the title song ‘Venus’ after a four year hiatus.

The group released their 10th studio album ‘The Return’ on midnight of March 23 on all major music website. As soon as its release the title track swept the top spot on various real-time charts such as Melon, Bugs, Mnet Music, Cyworld Music, Olleh Music, Naver Music and Daum Music.

Before the official release of the album the limited special edition of 30,000 copies was all sold out by pre-order gaining a lot of interest from fans.

‘The Return’s title song ‘Venus’ is composed by Andrew Jackson who has worked with pop artist Britney Spears and Leona Lewis with lyrics written by member Lee Minwoo. The song is a pop-elector dance beat, characterized by powerful choreography.

In the teaser video released on March 19 showed the members transform into vampire shown in black and white setting chasing and searching for the ghostly Venus.

The 10th album consists a total of 11 songs, ‘Hurt’ as a pop ballad, including Brit-pop and Urban R&B genres.
The company agency stated, “The album shows the musical growth of the group during the past 14 years. The album is really outstanding in quality, visually and acoustically as well.”

In actuality Shinhwa’s last promotion was the title song ‘Once In A Lifetime’ for their 8th album, a ballad song so the ‘Venus’ performance will actually be the first dance stage in almost 8 years.

Shinhwa will hold their comeback concert ‘2012 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Return’ in celebration to their 14th anniversary on March 24-25 at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena. The tour will continue onto Japan, China and Taiwan from the end of April.
