During an interview with E! News, the One Direction singer explained how he keeps the romance alive with fiancée Perrie Edwards, and that he's making sure to stay in shape for their big wedding day.

"I do try to impress her still, I do try to do a bit of exercise," Malik told us. "I don't want to completely let myself go."

Perrie Edwards has previously spoken about how she does her part to keep their relationship alive, despite their busy schedules and distance while Zayn is touring.

Perrie revealed her two biggest tips for keeping her long-distance relationship with fiance Zayn Malik fresh; when they talk via Skype, she makes sure to wear makeup and think about lighting.

Perry, 20, told The Mirror: "Do you know what, I do have to make an effort with make-up when I'm talking to Zayn on Skype.

"It makes you feel better. But you only have to put a bit on and it looks really good.

"I try to find some good lighting too. Sometimes I tip the lamp so it looks like I appear airbrushed and I'm like, 'Oh, I've just woken up', but really I haven't. But I look flawless because of the make-up.

"Or I go to a window for some natural light sometimes... that's the best."

Meanwhile, Zayn and his One Direction band mates just wrapped their world tour. Perhaps Perrie won't have to worry so much about Skyping now that her fiance is home!

Zayn Malik, also 20, proposed to Perrie in August. It was first made public when the Little Mix singer showed off her diamond engagement ring on the red carpet at One Direction's "This Is Us" film premiere in London, The Mirror reports.
