It was rumored before that Nexus 10 2 release date is set for Black Friday, the biggest sales event in the US this year. However, no new Google tablet appeared on that highly-anticipated day.

After not showing up on Black Friday, many speculated that the Nexus 10 2 release date was going to happen on Cyber Monday, but unfortunately, the 10-inch Android tablet was still a no-show.

Thus, up to now, the fans and the mobile industry are still curious and constantly speculating about possible Nexus 10 2 release date.

There is no certainty yet whether there will actually be a Nexus 10 2 release date since new rumors suggest that Google might be planning on replacing the full-sized tablet with a smaller one.

 As posted on International Business Times, reports are indicating that there might not be a new Nexus 10 this year, further suggesting that Google might shift from a 10-inch Android tablet to a smaller screen, particularly, with 8 or 9-inch display.

 According to reports, Google is currently working on Nexus 8, which previously was rumored to appear on the Android's Apps and Entertainment page. The post on IB Times reads, "In the photo, a lady was holding a tablet that appeared to be neither Nexus 7 nor Nexus 10. The device was definitely running with Android 4.4 KitKat OS." But the internet search giant immediately changed the image and replaced it with a Nexus 7 slate.  

Now, aside from rumors about Nexus 10 2 release date and specs, Android fans are also eager to know more about the alleged Nexus 8. And as reports suggest, the specs of the smaller Android tablet include 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1200 X 1920p. Furthermore, it will be powered with Snapdragon 600 quad-core at 1.7 GHz. There will also be Adreno 320 graphics, 3 MP rear camera, 2 MP front cam and will run Android 4.4 KitKat. As for the pricing, Nexus 8 is expected to cost around $199 for the 8 GB.

Expect more Nexus 8 and Nexus 10 2 release date rumors to come out until Google finally breaks its silence and made an official statement regarding the alleged devices.
