Amanda Bynes, who went from Nickelodeon star to Twitter trendsetter, has been released from psychiatric hold and will do her recovery at her parents' home Los Angeles.

Former actress Amanda Bynes finished her treatment at a Malibu, California, facility. The 27-year-old star of "The Amanda Show" will continue her recovery with her parents.

In a statement, the Bynes family lawyer Tamar Arminak told People magazine "Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day. Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared."

Amanda Bynes has been in involuntary psychiatric hold since July. Am It is alleged that Amanda Bynes was diagnosed with schizophrenia. 

Amanda Bynes started acting erratic months before she was institutionalized. Amanda was arrested for pot possession in New York City as well as reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence. Bynes had thrown a bong out of her New York City apartment window.

In July Bynes was placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold when she torched the driveway of a stranger in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Lynn Bynes took over Amanda's conservatorship. Bynes has been in treatment since September.

In September Amanda's lawyer entered papers showing Bynes was formally diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Amanda had been posting odd Twitter feeds and had several run-ins with authorities, including setting a fire in a stranger's driveway.

Amanda Bynes' family released a statement saying "The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda's supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles. Amanda is making great strides towards recovery. The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda's health and well-being."
