iPad Maxi Release Date Rumors: Reports Suggest ‘Tentative Name’ For Apple’s Expected 13-inch Tablet A Widely Circulated Joke

iPax Maxi release date: Speculations are in full-swing for Apple’s next move in the tablet arena and though it may easily be a concluded as a widespread prank, one report suggest that the term “MaxiPad” for the supposed 13-inch tablet is a hoax.

According to Crossmap’s Benjamin Jones, rumors on the tablet, which many have since called the “iPad Pro,,” seems as “obvious as a hoax, like the product name: MaxiPad.”

A quick search on Wikipedia shows that MaxiPad is a another name for Sanitary Napkins and it would be difficult to imagine Apple to come up with such a confusing (and humorous) name for its latest expected product. Though we can never be sure if the iPad Maxi is not a real term or not, the reporter suggests that “what might have been obviously meant as a joke have been taken seriously by some media outlets, who touts Maxipad or iPad Maxi as the name of Apple's next iPad.”

According to the Crossmap writer, the joke seems to be continuation of one that began from the original launch of the iPad. Someone was said to have tweeted, “They decided to call it the iPad? was iTampon taken?” The comedic tweet became a hot topic on twitter in hours.

Nonetheless, the web is peppered with reports still about the upcoming iPad Maxi. A recent article at Trusted Reviews with the title “Apple testing iPad Maxi with 12.9-inch 4K display,” citing a Chinese news source that the Cupertino tech giant will possibly have one variant of the iPad Maxi having a 4K resolution.

According to 9to5Mac, Korean website ET News suggests the term about Apple’s rumored 12.9-inch iPad, saying the iPad Maxi is a “tentative name.” The news has since been reblogged by many news outlets.

The Mac-focused site said that the idea of Apple launching a bigger tablet is impossible. “But when a rumor comes attached to a name like that, you’d think there might be a little more upward movement on the part of various eyebrows ...” 9to5Mac added.
