HTC One Review, Price: A Premium Android Phone That's A Tough Act To Follow

For people who are looking for an HTC One review and price options, the Taiwanese manufacturer's flagship is indeed one of the best in the business today. While it is already almost a year since it was announced, its premium build and high-end specs still captivate the hearts of Android fans around the world. In a particular tech blog, it even outplayed Samsung's Galaxy S4 and nabbed the top spot as the best Android phone around.

Packing a 4.7" display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), the HTC One's screen is certainly pleasant to look at. And with a pixel density of 469 ppi, it is arguably the finest phone screen to date. However, what separates the device's design from others' is the stunning metallic build and finish which makes it a premium phone.

Under the HTC One's hood is a powerful Snapdragon 600 chipset with quad-core Krait 300 CPU clocked at 1.7Ghz each. It may not be the latest the market has to offer, but it's performance is enough to be at par with even the latest models today.

Of course it will not be complete without the BoomSound speakers in front which make the device the more stylish. Integrated Beats Audio also improves sound quality immensely, though some analysts and experts are still claiming it as an overhyped gimmick.

Unfortunately, what the company thought to be one of the device's top features turned out to be a flop. I'm talking about the 4MP Ultrapixel camera. Indeed, it takes good low-light images, but aside from that, everyday use of the camera is like using one that's from two years ago.

The HTC One runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean from the box, but most of its versions are already running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat edition. On top of the OS is HTC's famous Sense skin which does what it's supposed to do.

BlinkFeed is a cool app whose live tiles greatly resembles that of the Windows Lumia lineup. However, some, if not most users did not like the feature. Good thing HTC found a way to provide an option to disable it through an OTA update.

With the build, performance and quality of the HTC, it is difficult to believe that several network carriers are offering it with $0 downpayment in a 2-year contract. Though if you're looking for a fresher HTC One, you might as well wait for the alleged HTC One 2 M8.
