Android 4.4 KitKat Release Date Arriving To Korean Manufacturer's Entry-Level Phones? Here's The Tentative List

After it was announced more than a month ago, the Android 4.4 KitKat release date for top smartphones in the market has already been revealed by manufacturers and even carriers. But how about the entry-level and midrange phones? 

Fortunately for owners of Samsung phones, there is a glimpse of hope to try out the latest Android version. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, Samsung is currently evaluating the list of Android phones that will get Android 4.4 KitKat. Some of the phones which are reportedly being considered at the moment include the Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S3 mini,Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Fame, Galaxy Ace 2 and the Galaxy Fresh. 

Google stated that its most recent Android version can run smoothly on even entry-level phones as long as they have at least 512MB of RAM. This is certainly great news for owners who do not want to buy a new phone, but wants to get an updated Android version. 

However, be reminded that Samsung still has not announced anything, and the report says it is still investigating the compability of Android KitKat on these phones. 

Meanwhile, another Android maker, Sony is also reportedly considering to roll out the update to its own list of entry-level phones like the Xperia SP and Xperia ZR.
