"Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 10 will feature Katherine and Elena in very different situations, according to two new spoiler promo videos.

A new extended promo video for season 5, episode 10 of "Vampire Diaries" features Elena on an operating table with Dr. Wes getting ready to begin his experiments. Damon struggles to break out of his cell to rescue his girlfriend, while Stefan threatens Aaron and gets very Ripper-y when he finds out Elena is missing.

Meanwhile, another promo video for "Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 10, titled "Fifty Shades of Grayson," features Katherine in a very different scenario from her doppelganger. The video shows Katherine hanging out with Matt in the woods, trying to do a handstand (we were surprised too!). We soon find out that Katherine is paying Matt to make her "hot again."

"Put me in shape and prolong this death thing as long as possible," Katherine tells Matt in the midseason episode's promo clip.

"Yeah, that'll happen," Matt mutters.

"What did you say?" Katherine says.

But she really can't hear him: "Oh my god, I'm going deaf. My entire body is falling apart ... I can't breathe!"

As the dying Katherine tries to get a grip on herself, Matt suggests: "If you're so anxious not to be dead why don't you have a vampire turn you?"

"Every time I ingest vampire blood my body rejects it," Katherine explains.

The midseason finale of "The Vampire Diaries" will air on the CW on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m.

The official synopsis reads: "DAMON'S PAST RETURNS TO HAUNT HIM - Damon realizes Elena is in danger and enlists Stefan's help to find her. The brothers pay a visit to Aaron, and Damon shocks Stefan by revealing his first-hand knowledge of Aaron's family. In an attempt to stop Damon, Dr. Wes unleashes his secret weapon, forcing Damon to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever, as well as the consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge. Meanwhile, Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes' confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal. Finally, a frantic Katherine turns to Matt for help, until she realizes that Nadia may be the one who can solve her problem."
