Metal Gear Solid 5 Release Date Announced As March 18, Ground Zeroes To Have Exclusive Content On Xbox 360 And Xbox One

Metal Gear Solid 5's release date has been set for March 18, 2014 and Ground Zeroes is expected to have exclusive content for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, according to GameSpot.com.

The website also announced that the "Jamais Vu" mission will only be available for Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 will have exclusive content as well, including the "Déjà vu" mission, where gamers will be able to play as Solid Snake.

Metal Gear Solid 5 developer Hideo Kojima revealed in a recent interview that the Ground Zeroes prologue will serve to whet people's appetites, but they may be waiting a while for the main course, IGN.com writes.

"If I were to put it in Hollywood movie terms, the prologue, that is Ground Zeroes, would be similar to the first 10-15 minutes that are meant to 'captivate' [the audience]," Kojima said.

"At first, something will happen, then the title will appear like 'bam!' and then nine years later, a big event will be the start [of Metal Gear Solid V]. That's how the story will be connected. As far as the game itself goes, The Phantom Pain will take place in an immense open world map, while Ground Zeroes takes place in a smaller open world."

Earlier this week, he also revealed that the game's sequel is going to "take a while" due to the massive scale, according to Kotaku.

Kojima also revealed that he decided to release Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in an effort to appease fans pressuring the game's developers.
