Top Android Tablets 2013: Sony Xperia Z Ultra And LG G Pad 8.3 Get Google Play Editions, White Nexus 7 (2013) Now Available From Google Play Store

Among the top Android tablets in 2013, Google has picked Sony's Xperia Z Ultra and the LG G Pad 8.3 to be among the Google Play Edition devices which could potentially boost sales this season.

According to a report from GSM Arena, the two devices are already available for order from Google's Play Store in the US. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE costs $649 while the LG G Pad 8.3 will set you back for $349.99.

The report says that the two slates do not differ from their original versions apart from having Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. For people who are planning to buy these slates but are worrying about the heavy UI skins on top, then the GPE versions will surely be a welcomed treat.

Released back in September alongside the Sony Xperia Z1, the Z Ultra packs a 6.4" Triluminous display with 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 800 SoC, and water and dust resistance. Meanwhile, the LG tablet boasts an 8.3" IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, a lower version Snapdragon 600, SD card slot, and a metal frame.

In the same report, a white Nexus 7 (2013) is now available from the Play Store as well. It features a white back, but black front.
