‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Ted’s Ex Girlfriend Victoria Will Guest Star In April Episode; Why Did They Break Up In Season 8?

"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 will feature guest star Ashley Williams, who played Ted's ex-girlfriend Victoria, in an April episode. Spoiler alert: why did Victoria and Ted break up in season 8, and what does this mean for her appearance in season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother"?

According to TVLine, Victoria will appear in season 9, episode 19 of "How I Met Your Mother,"  which is expected to shoot this month and air around April. Will Victoria crash Robin and Barney's wedding? Or will she come just at the right time to remind Ted to move on after Robin, opening up his heart to the Mother?

For "HIMYM" fans, let's recap on Ted and Victoria's relationship, and why they broke up in season 8 in the first place.

Ted and Victoria met in season 1 at a wedding, and Ted instantly fell in love with the sweet baker girl. After spending seasons trying to track her down, they started a long-distance relationship when she went away to Germany, but Ted ended up cheating on Victoria with Robin. Victoria got engaged, and then ran away with Ted on her wedding day, only to break up with Ted when he proposed to her.

Why did they break up?

Victoria said she would agree to marry Ted only if he cut off all ties with Robin. Of course, Ted couldn't do that because, as we all now know, he was still in love with Robin, so Victoria and Ted broke up for real this time.

Will Victoria come back to remind Ted that once again, he's putting his life on hold because of his love for Robin?

We can't wait to see Victoria come back to "How I Met Your Mother," and we have four months to speculate on what Ashley Williams' character will bring to season 9 of the CBS series.
