But when Damon breaks free and kills the scientists, the room catches on fire. Damon tries to free Enzo from his cage, but the bars are covered with vervain.

Damon knew what he had to do to save himself, which was turn off his emotions and leave his friend.

"I'm sorry, Enzo," he said, as he left Enzo behind to burn and die.

But not so fast: at the very end of the episode, Elena is strapped to an operating table, and who is strapped beside her? None other than Enzo.

"Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 11 will air tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 12 on the CW. Don't forget to watch to see Damon and Enzo - two vampire hotties - interact once again.
