‘Mad Men’ Snubbed At SAG Awards 2014 Nominations? Jon Hamm, Season 6 Left Out For First Time In History

Was "Mad Men" snubbed at the SAG Awards 2014 nominations? For the first time in history, "Mad Men" didn't get a single nomination from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and not even Jon Hamm could snag a nomination from the SAG Awards 2014.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "Mad Men" was snubbed by the SAG Awards for the first time in its history, and didn't receive a single nomination - not even Jon Hamm, who plays the dashing Don Draper, could steal a nom for acting lead. This was also the first time the cast has been overlooked in the Best Drama Ensemble category.

E! News called the snub "a crime against good acting," and added that these must be "dark times."

Though season 6 didn't get a SAG Awards nomination for 2014, season 7, which premieres next spring, is sure to bring a lot of new material and possibilities.

As we previously reported, Christina Hendricks, who plays secretary-turned-partner Joan Harris in "Mad Men," talked to The Star about season 7:

"We're about to start filming the third episode and, honestly, no one knows where it's going to end," Hendricks said.

"It's crazy, it's mad, it's just what you'd expect it to be. Every time a new script arrives we just fall on it and tear it apart looking for clues as to where our characters are going to wind up," she added.

Hendricks also talked about AMC's decision to break up the final season of "Mad Men" into two parts; half of season 7 will premiere in spring 2014 and half in spring 2015.

"I know it can be a bit frustrating to me as an actor, because I would just like to keep going. But our writers really put their blood and guts into the scripts, and they need the time off to regroup and recuperate," she said.
