Breaking Bad Star Aaron Paul Lands Another 'Sidekick' Role In 1st Ever Netflix Animated Series

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul will be back as a sidekick. However, for fans of AMC's successful drama series, it won't be with Bryan Cranston's Walter White. It is with equally endearing and convincing actor Will Arnett of NBC's Arrested Development.

Wired.com has reported that Paul, popularly known as Jesse Pinkman, will play as the sidekick of Arnett's character in Netflix's first animated series entitled "BoJack Horseman."

The series, which will premiere on the world-famous streaming service next year, is about self-loathing talking horse named BoJack (voiced by Will Arnett) and his human sidekick (voiced by Paul).

Also included in the show is Amy Sedaris who will play the role of Arnett's feline ex-girlfriend. Bo Jack is a washed-up equine star of the family friendly 1990's (fake) comedy Horsin' Around who is trying to survive a "muddle of self-loathing, whiskey and failed relationships."

This will be the first time that Netflix will offer an animated series and creators think that by adding the charismatic actors, it will help them reap the same success that the streaming had with Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. Lisa Hanawalt, who is assigned as the show's cartoonist, even said that Bo Jack Horseman is this year's Horse is the New Black/Horse of Cards, a reference to the media streaming service provider's two successful shows.

"BoJack Horseman is a brutally funny and unique take on what can happen after pop stardom," said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. "Raphael [Bob-Waksberg, series creator] has created an amazing set of characters voiced by some of the best comics and actors in the world."

Aside from Bo Jack Horseman, Aaron Paul will also star in Need for Speed film, a movie adaptation of the popular racing video game. But unlike in Breaking Bad and Bo Jack, Paul owns the movie's lead role.
