Upcoming Android Tablets 2013: Asus Announces PadFone Mini, Boasts Dual-SIM Support, 4.3" Display, Snapdragon 400, Android 4.4 KitKat
There are a lot of upcoming Android tablets in 2013 just before the holidays, and Asus does not want to get left behind. The Taiwanese manufacturer unveiled the PadFone Mini, a midrange smaller sibling of the successful PadFone.
Boasting a 4.3" Super IPS display with qHD resolution and pixel density of 256ppi, the PadFone Mini is certainly a looker in terms of display. Both it also holds its fair share of power. The phone runs on a Snapdragon 400 chipset, quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 for good gaming graphics.
Other notable features of the phone include an 8-megapixel camera, a 2MP front cam, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, and a relatively small 1,500mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the tablet dock has a 7" Super IPS display, and a bigger 2,200mAh battery.
According to the report by GSM Arena, the PadFone Mini has gone official in Taiwan for NTD 11,900 or about $405. The device will also be available in nearby countries such as China, Russia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore in the next few weeks.
