Madonna has proven that she's still got it when she topped the Forbes' list of music industry's female biggest earners by hauling in $125 million from her concert tour, sales from merchandise and her clothing line.

It was quite a jump for Madonna who was listed at number 9 in Forbes list last year.

The 55-year-old "Material Girl" trumped Lady Gaga, who came in second after earning $80 million, and multi-awarded pop sensation Taylor Swift at third after raking in $55 million from sales of her album "Red."

Their earnings were computed from June 2012 to June 2013 through record sales, merchandise sales, concert tickets and interviews. The data are then cross-matched from the records of the Recording Industry Association of America, Pollstar trade mag and Nielsen Soundscan.

Beyonce, 32, ranked 4^th trailing Swift by just $2 million from her Mrs. Carter World Tour, endorsements and her clothing line.

Jennifer Lopez, 44, managed to land at the top 5 after earning $45 million from her world tour and her Latin singing competition show. her income suffered a great deal after leaving the show "American Idol."

Madonna's MDNA Tour is her ninth global tour and one of her most successful, after raking in $305 million. She now occupies the top two spots for the highest-grossing tours for female artists after MDNA exceeded sales of Celine Dion's Taking Chances tour.

Her tour even generated some controversy after she included into her act the use of guns, which drew the ire of several groups particularly the Mothers Against Guns.

However, the multi-awarded singer lashed back saying through a representative that Madonna would rather cancel her tour than allow censors to compromise her art.

In an interview with Good Morning America earlier this year, Madonna explained: "That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies. The thing is, guns don't kill people, people kill people."
