While we approach the end of a successful year for the smartphone industry, we might also want to expect upcoming Sony phones during its press conference on January 6 at the LVCC, Central Hall. 

According to a report from GSM Arena, the event will last for 45 minutes and feature 15 of Sony's newest devices and gadgets. This includes phones, netbooks, photography equipment, 3D video, portable audio, etc. 

But even before Sony's press conference kicks in, we are still clueless which phones and tablets would be announced that day. Sony has been successful in keeping its development secrets until a few days before they launch, so we'll expect the rumors to arrive anytime next week. 

However, certain sources say that the Xperia Z1s or Xperia Z1 mini will finally be officially announced during the event. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
