LG G Flex Review: Is A 'Flexible' Smartphone Sensible Nowadays?

A few months after its release, an LG G Flex review will certainly come in handy for people who want to decide whether to get this handset or not. Now, that it has already been confirmed that it will be released to the international market, consumers should really get all the information they could to know more about this device.

Design

Borrowing the design from LG's current flagship, the G2, the G Flex is certainly a looker. However, the glass panels of the G2 were replaced by curved glass in order to live up to its name. The lower 720p resolution is also something worth noting, though viewing angles are still impressive. Behind the device lies the power button and the volume keys which were all placed conveniently. The back cover is made up of self-healing plastic that easily 'erases' shallow scratches.

Performance

This is where the LG G Flex greatly resembles the G2. If you do not too much attention to the plastic screen and focus on app loading and homescreen transitions, the phone just feels like the G2. Packed with the same internals, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, more than 2GB of RAM and quad-core CPU, the G Flex will certainly handle all of your processing tasks easily.

Battery Life

The 3,500mAh non-removable battery works wonders for the device. In a particular test, it was able to last 25 hours of talk time, nine hours in web browsing, and a whopping 19 hours in video playback, leaving other flagships in the dust. With moderate to heavy usage, a average user can easily get though the day without having to plug the G Flex.

Verdict

The LG G Flex is certainly a revolutionary phone from the Korean manufacturer. And while it has made more noise than its Samsung-made rival, it may be difficult to sell considering the plastic display and lower screen resolution. But for people who want to experience how a curved phone works, plus the self-healing case, they might eventually get it.
