Nokia Lumia 1520 Review: A Lumia In The Phablet Category, Nokia Nails It

Launched in October, the Lumia 1520 is Windows Phone's most powerful handset to date, and with flagship-shattering specs, what would this Nokia Lumia 1520 review bring to the table?

If you are searching for a Windows Phone alternative and you're not exactly the type that has big money issues, then the Lumia 1520 from Nokia is a wise choice. Why? It's because it is the finest WP-powered handset in the market right now.

Design

The Lumia 1520 bears the same design as its smaller Lumia siblings, but it more than makes up for the lack of innovative design with a Full HD display, the first in a Windows Phone device. And with Nokia's ClearBlack IPS technology, screen angles and low light performance are fairly impressive.

Performance

If you are searching for a device that thrives in performance, then you better try the Lumia 1520's Snapdragon 800 chipset, quad-core CPU, a first in a Nokia phone), and 2GB of RAM. There is also the 20MP Carl Zeiss lens with optical image stabilization. While the Windows Store is relatively empty compared to Google's Play Store, at least it offers a number of basic games and applications.

Battery Life

Packed with a 3,400mAh battery, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is one device that can withstand a lot of work throughout the day. Even after several calls, games played and video playbacks, it is still awake with probably under 25 percent battery life.

Verdict

The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a top-notch Windows Phone-powered device that can take on the flagships of the competition. However, it's not completely its fault that it does not have access to the largest app directory in the world. If a person can overlook such a deficiency, then there's no reason why he would let this phone slip away.
