Ariana Grande ‘The Way’ Lyrics End Career? 20-Year-Old Singer Gets Lawsuit For Allegedly Copying Verses From 1972 Hit ‘Troglodyte’

Ariana Grande is being sued for allegedly copying versus from the 1972 hit funk song "Troglodyte" and using them for her hit single "The Way," leaving many fans wondering if this could end her music career.

Plaintiff Minder Music claims that she violated copyright infringement of The Jimmy Castor Bunch's famous song, the Huffington Post reports.

Minder Music claims the sentence "What we're gonna do right here is go back, way back, into time" is "substantially similar" to her opening phrase in "The Way," which reads "What we gotta do right here is go back, back into time," the Huffington Post also reports.

Ariana Grande's legal team told ABC News that she did not write the lyrics and that they will resolve the issue.

The 20-year-old pop star  is best known for her role in Nickelodeon sitcom "Victorious."

"The Way" was a top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year.

No announcements have been made in regards to the further proceedings of her lawsuit.
