The 20-7-6 San Jose Sharks travel to St. Louis vs the 22-6-4 Blues as two of the top teams in the Western Conference look to repeat their offensive showdowns from earlier in the season. Special teams proved to be vital again Saturday as the Sharks failed to convert on two power plays while losing 3-2 at Nashville, which went 1 for 2 with the man advantage. That came two days after San Jose did all of its scoring on the power play to beat Minnesota 3-1 at home, according to ESPN.com.

"Every game we play it seems the team that wins the special teams play, wins the game," captain Joe Thornton told ESPN.com. "They got the one power-play goal and we didn't, and that's basically what the NHL comes down to right now, who is better on special teams."

While San Jose has lost five of its last six games, while St. Louis has won three of its last four and walked away from last night's overtime loss with a point.

"I thought the way we played in the second period was great. The second period was one of the best road periods we've played all year," Coach Ken Hitchcock told NHL.com.  "We really took it to them and really hemmed them in, and at times overwhelmed them with our forecheck, so I was really happy. I was happy with the point. You know, disappointed that we lost it the way we did, it was too bad. [We] made a few errors on the 4-on-4 stuff, but overall the way we played in the second and third period was pretty impressive. We were down three, four top forwards ... that's pretty impressive."
