Avalanche vs Stars live stream: Watch online free Tuesday 8:30 ET as Colorado goes to Dallas for the home-and-home following a 6-2 victory at home last night.

Colorado matched its season high in scoring after opening 2013-14 with a 6-1 win vs the Ducks on Oct. 2 despite going 0 for 5 on the power play. That unit is scoreless on the last 31 chances spanning 11 games, yet coach Patrick Roy felt encouraged by the latest effort.

"The power play was really good, to be honest. We had a lot of shots," Roy told ESPN.com. "What else can you do? I don't want to over talk about the power play; we didn't need the power play."

Although Anaheim managed to escape the first period in a 1-1 tie, the Stars were outshot 21-10 in the opening 20 minutes.

"That was pretty much us laying an egg," forward Jamie Benn told ESPN.com. "They came out strong and jumped all over us. They're a good team and they've got four pretty good lines. They just keep coming at you, and we couldn't find a way to stop it."

Jean-Sebastian Giguere will start in net for the Avalanche, as he is 7-1 on the season. In his last start, he suffered his first loss of the 2013 NHL season, allowing three goals vs the Canucks. Dan Ellis will most likely start for Dallas, going 3-3 on the season, with a 3.19 GAA.

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson (back) is expected to return Tuesday. Forward Alex Tanguay (hip/knee) is out. ... Stars forward Vernon Fiddler (upper body) has missed the past four games. Defenseman Aaron Rome suffered a lower-body injury Monday and will not play. Defensemen Stephane Robidas (leg) and Trevor Daley (ankle) are on injured reserve."
