LG G Flex Review: 4 Reasons This Smartphone Is The Industry's Future

As we have read in numerous LG G Flex review articles over the past few weeks, this smartphone from the Korean manufacturer is poised to pioneer phones which will have a truly flexible display. But why is there so much hype surrounding such a phone? Samsung's Galaxy Round certainly did not make headlines days after it was launched, yet this curved phone from LG is still kicking, months after it was announced.

There are several reasons why there is a lot of excitement in the G Flex, and here are four which prove that this handset represent the prototype of future smartphones:

1. It showcases better durability for smartphones

It is always heart-breaking whenever you see your phone drop from your tabletop to the floor, and you can't help but wonder how long it would be until the phone finally dies on you. Fortunately, the curved screen takes a phone's durability to a whole new level, while at the same time preventing scratches and dents.

2. It could be the first step towards foldable devices

While being able to see a foldable smartphone is still several years away, we believe the G Flex is one step closer to that goal. LG has included a curved battery to its curved phone, which is another milestone for the Korean manufacturer. It would just take time until companies and suppliers are able to develop foldable batteries and even screens.

3. The self-healing back works seamlessly

If you have seen how the self-healing back cover of the G Flex heals itself, you will be amazed of what technology has achieved. Now, key and coin scratches can easily be hidden through the back cover. Unfortunately, deeper cuts caused by knives or other sharp objects are much more difficult to 'heal and may not completely hide the defect.

4. It sparks a revolution in the mobile development industry

Samsung may have failed with its Galaxy Round, but the G Flex has sent a message to other manufacturers to join the curved or even flexible phone bandwagon. And it looks like it already succeeded in luring Apple as a new patent for curved displays was recently awarded to the Cupertino company.
