‘Batman Vs Superman’ – ‘Wonder Woman’ TV Series Actress Lynda Carter Sounds Off On Gal Gadot; Will She Live Up To The Role?

As always, the opinions of their predecessors are supposed to be given much weight. In the case of Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman, the iconic role was given an unforgettable image by Lynda Carter, star of the Wonder Woman TV Series.

Lynda Carter already gave her 'blessing' to the choice of Gal Gadot in diplomatic fashion. She does not consider herself as 'THE' Wonder Woman although an entire generation in the late 70s and even early 80s would still have her image when the character is mentioned.

Carter, now 62 years old, spoke to Metro:

"I hope she has fun with it. I care more about the character continuing than holding on to my piece of it."

On the issue of Wonder Woman being introduced in the Man of Steel sequel/Justice League intro(as opposed to having a solo movie): "Maybe that's better. She won't have to carry the whole film. It takes the pressure off."

Final message to Gal Gadot/Wonder Woman: "I wish her well. I'm just glad she's going to be out there again. Maybe she'll get her own show again."

Meanwhile, Wesley Coller, producer of "Man of Steel" and its sequel, shared his excitement and anticipation over the inclusion of Wonder Woman. From his personal experience, the character is more than just a superhero. Speaking to MLive.com:

"[My daughter's] favorite book is this little Wonder Woman flip book. It has the lasso, the invisible plane, the bracelets - every page has an image she's just in awe with. And something that's become a reality, being a dad with a new daughter, is that I have a special place in my heart for the idea of a strong, empowered female superhero being out there."

Will the significance of Wonder Woman be enough to prompt Warner Bros. to make a solo movie:

"We're super excited to have her in the film. It will be a ton of fun. But at the same time, we've got to stay focused on the film we're working on now."

It was a question worth asking, but it is quite predictable that the studio execs will be vague with any details.

The "Man of Steel" sequel which currently has the working title "Batman Vs Superman" will land in theaters July 17, 2015.
