Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas are planning to reunite for a romantic date on New Year's, after spending a weekend at Sir Richard Branson's mansion before the holidays, according to reports.

The Mirror reports that Prince Harry and his girlfriend of almost two years, Cressida Bonas, will reunite for "a romantic New Year's date," once he has spent the holidays with his royal family at the Queen's Sandringham estate.

Though Cressida Bonas was once believed to have been invited to spend the holidays with Prince Harry at Sandringham, it was later learned that it was an affair reserved for close family and close relatives only. However, her lack of invitation has not quieted rumors that Harry, 29, and Cressy, 24, are soon to be engaged.

"Cressida will be with her family for Christmas," one of her close friends told the Telegraph.

A courtier added that until a wedding happens for Prince Harry and his girlfriend Cressida, she won't be around for the holidays.

"His Royal Highness knows that it would not be appropriate for Miss Bonas to join the Royal family for Christmas until they are a married couple," the courtier told the Telegraph.

Harry will most likely be eager to spend more time with his girlfriend, after spending nearly a month on his charity trek to the South Pole.

According to The Mirror, the couple are believed to have spent the weekend before the holidays at Sir Richard Branson's mansion in Kidlington, Oxon, before parting ways to spend Christmas with their respective families.

Though Cressida has been to Sandringham on a few occasions for hunting parties, the holidays are a more private time for the royal family. Her presence would have sent a strong message to the public about Prince Harry and Cressida's relationship - perhaps a message too strong for the time being.

But a proposal on their New Year's date may not be too far-fetched!
