The top ten list of the most pirate TV show of 2013 was officially released and Game Of Thrones Season 3, Episode 10 tops the list with 5.9 million downloads. Newcomer Hannibal also makes it!

Last Wednesday, TorrentFreak released the Top Ten list of the most pirated and downloaded TV shows of 2013 via BitTorrent download. According to Zach Epstein, the list only includes the most downloaded episode for a specific TV series. The data came from BitTorrent trackers, which means it does not include data from other torrent services or other means of digital piracy.

The season finale of the hit HBO TV series comes on top with 5.9 million downloads. This shouldn't come as a surprise since Game Of Thrones has been breaking lots of records since it started.

Aside from several nominations and awards in various award-giving bodies, the HBO show has also broken other piracy records just recently. Aside from topping the most pirated list, TorrentFreak also reported that the Game Of Thrones Season 3 Episode 10 also broke the record for the most number of people sharing an episode at the same time.

According to the report, the season finale of Game Of Thrones, "set a new BitTorrent record with more than 170,000 people sharing an episode simultaneously."

While most people would think that being the "most pirated TV show" is a threat, several prominent TV personalities believe it's actually a good thing.

Zach Epstein of BGR Media believes that, "The number of people who download pirated copies of TV shows is a very good indication of a show's overall popularity."

Even the shows' makers doesn't seem to be bothered about the high piracy rate of the show.

TorrentFreak also reported that the show's director David Petrarca the show's piracy helped in creating the show's "cultural buzz."

Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes also believes that the high rate of piracy of their show helped increase subscription for his company. He even went further by claiming that being recognized as the most pirated show is "better than an Emmy."

Aside from Game Of Thrones season finale, other popular TV series such as The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and The Walking Dead also makes the list.

Other newcomers such as Vikings, Arrow, and Hannibal also made it to top 10!
