Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Review, Specs: Ultrabook’s Feature Incl. 3rd Gen Intel Core Processor, 13.3-inch LED Display, 4GB SDRAM; Full-Time Laptop, Not A Complete Tablet

Lenovo Yoga 13 Review, specs: The $849 Yoga 13 bears the functions and qualities of a laptop, but is better used as a tablet, according to reviews. Describe as a device better used as a full-time laptop and part-time tablet, this ultrabook is one of the multitude of hybrids in the market today.

Specs of the entry level Lenovo Idea Pad Yoga 13, which according to Lenovo.com starts at $849 include a 13.3-inch HD + LED Multitouch 1600 x 900 display, Windows 8 operating system, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 128 GB SSD drive and a 4GB SDRAM memory. The Ultrabook has an integrated 720p HD camera and includes a Bluetooth Version 4.0 for connectivity options. Hard drive storage for the unit begins at 128 GB SSD.

According to CNET, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 looks as good as any 13-inch Ultrabook. A huge plus for the machine is the added attraction of a 360-degree screen and a laptop body. The Yoga 13 can fold into a tent, stand or slate.

PCMag gives the laptop/tablet Windows-powered hybrid a four out of five stars, giving it an excellent rating. The tech publication cites the excellent keyboard and speedy performance of the unit, thanks to its Intel iCore i5-3317U processor and 128GB solid-state drive.

The downside noted on the unit is its size and cost. CNET says that the Yoga 13 costs more than standard laptop/tablet hybrids with similar components. The tablet mode leaves the keyboard exposed. PCMag considers a negative that the Yoga 13 itself is too large and heavy for comfort as a tablet.

Despite its downsides though, the design of the Yoga 13 Ultrabook is considered one of the best for a hybrid device and overall, it doesn’t compromise the traditional laptop experience. But as CNET said, to maximize its functionality and to appreciate its full potential, it’s better use first as a laptop and second as a tablet.
