Star Wars Episode 7 Casting Rumors: ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Actor Dominic Monaghan Stalking Director J.J. Abrams To Get A Role In The Film
Star Wars Episode 7 Casting Rumors are never ending from the return of Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher to some of the craziest casting rumors like Jennifer Lawrence playing the young Han Solo or Benedict Cumberbatch to play the seven-footer Chewbacca, it just goes on and on and on. Perhaps until J.J. Abrams or Lucasfilm would release a name the casting rumors will never stop.
Before the year ends another actor is now being linked to the high-anticipated sci-fi film. Best known for playing one of Frodo Baggins trusted Hobbit friend Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck from the trilogy "Lord of the Rings," Dominic Monaghan is reportedly obsessed in joining R2-D2 - the only confirmed character to return on Star Wars Episode 7 - and the rest of the team for the seventh episode of Star Wars.
Dominic was not kidding when he said that he wanted a role in the movie, when asked by one of his fans about how much he wanted to get a part in the film Dominic's answer thru Twitter says it all.
"@TK10815:@bad_robot The total number of phone calls @DomsWildThings has made to JJ pleading for a part in #StarWarsVII--it's less than 4000"
During the premiere of the "Lone Ranger," Monaghan was asked by Desde Hollywood about his role on Star Wars Episode 7, but the 37-year old German born actor did not reveal any information, he just simply said:
"Ask J.J. Abrams," he said while smiling. "He'll know."
Will Dominic Monaghan leave the middle-earth and take on the galaxy far, far away? That we cannot answer, well not until J.J. Abrams or the rest of the creators of Star Wars Episode 7 would confirm any of the casting rumors for that matter.
With the coming of 2014 and the production date nearing we sure hope to get some revelations as to who will be included in the blockbuster film.
