Arsenal will face off against rival Cardiff City on Wednesday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.

Arsenal, coming out of a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Arsenal Manager Arsène Wenger said nobody in France knows what the quenelle salute means, The Independent reports.

"Personally I believe there is only one beautiful way to celebrate a goal and that is to share it with your partners. That should be for me the only way," he said, according to the site.

"The second thing is that nobody knows in France what it means. Some make it an anti-system movement, some make it an anti-Semitic movement. I think personally I don't know, I have never seen this movement."

Cardiff City, coming out of a 2-2 tie with Sunderland, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Cardiff City caretaker David Kerslake, who recently replaced Malky Mackay within the team's leadership, is apparently "in the dark" about who will replace him as manager, BBC Sports reports.

"I'm prepared to take the reins beyond Arsenal," he said, according to the site.

"Malky's left big boots to fill but I'm sure the owner and board of directors will select the right man."
